...kalle's birthday...

my niece kalle turned one this last week...so brynn & danny had a little party over at their place for the occasion. kalle looked so cute in her little tutu...

brynn & i made a banner...very simple...i'll post instructions later this week in case any of you are wondering about dimensions & stuff.

and what would a party be now days without cupcakes...sprinkles cupcakes for that matter. by the way...sprinkles has the BEST recipe for vanilla frosting!! that's something else i'll have to share...even if it does call for 2 cubes of butter...everything in moderation, right??

brynn found the cutest giant cupcake pan for kalle's cake. she bought it at sur la table at gateway...such a fun purchase.

kalle didn't mess around with getting to the good stuff...it was great entertainment for me, seeing as how zac wanted absolutely nothing to do with his cake on his first birthday...

...easter 2008...

easter was really a lot of fun this year...it seems like the holidays just keep getting more & more fun as time goes by. although, zac wasn't too sure about the idea of the easter bunny coming into our house...so he made us write a letter to the easter bunny asking him to please stay outside. (he is so much like his dad...i bet chad was exactly like this when he was a little boy...totally cautious!) anyway, once the morning came around...i was holding my breath in hopes that we wouldn't have a melt down once zac discovered that the easter bunny did come inside. lucky for us, he didn't seem to care...the egg hunt & candy must have done the trick!

here's the kids in their easter attire. my mom bought emerson the cutest little easter dress from shabby baby...it really was so cute & a very nice gift! and then there's chad searching for eggs...he was such a good hunter & came out with the record low of two! :)

and here's brynn, danny, and kalle having a great time...kalle is one of the funniest little babies i know...i really think i could just sit and watch her all day, no lie. and then we have cute brooke & uncle nate helping zac count up his goods.

we had a fun surprise visitor stop by...the cutest little duckling. a neighbor girl randomly bought one from the pet store & came over to show the kids...and they were very entertained of course, as we all were actually. it was a great afternoon...thanks again parents...and easter bunny!

...weekend in boise...

we made a quick trip to boise last weekend, seeing as how it's already been three months since we were there at christmas...crazy how fast time flies! and as always, we had a great & relaxing time. here's emmy with her new toothy grin...

yes, our little fish bronco died this week. we've known he was going to die for a while now...i think that the soft water must not be good for fish or something...because he started going down hill ever since we moved. so...zac helped me flush bronco down the toilet and as he was being washed away, zac waved and said "bye bronco! see ya' next time!" now he hasn't stopped telling me that "it's fun to flush fish down the toilet!" i'm thinking we may not get another fish anytime soon...because i know zac & i know that the day we got him, he'd be begging me to flush him down the toilet too...sad i know.

i use my computer for practically all of my little projects & things...which is why i LOVE this website...www.dafont.com...SO much!

basically, you just download the font & save it to your desktop. after you've unzipped, or opened it, there will be an "f" on the icon. drag it into your fonts folder on your computer...which is located in the "applications" folder on a MAC & in the "my computer" area on a PC. it really is so easy and makes things much cuter when you have the perfect font to go with your projects! oh...and they have some fonts that have pictures instead of letters...and you can find some cute things...like i've used some of the flower fonts before.

i saw these cute paper birds in the latest issue of better homes and gardens...and thought they'd be a fun accent to my spring decorations...plus they're easy & cheap!! if you want the template so you can make some of your own, click here...

...race recap...

so i completed my first official 1/2 marathon in moab last weekend...and really loved it! i never thought in a million years that i would ever be someone who loved running, but it's quickly turning into a passion & i love the challenge. here i am before the race started...it was freezing outside by the way.

and here i am reenacting my finish...yes that's right...reenacting it. i was probably the only runner that heather & meliss missed, so i ran through twice to get some pictures...kindof embarrassing.

crossing the finish line!! woo hoo!! i finished in 2:01:59...which i was happy about. my knees have been giving me problems the last couple of weeks, and i think i hurt them even more after this race. i seriously thought my leg was just going to give out on me completely...but i finished & am hoping that i can still run the marathon next month. we'll see how these legs of mine hold up!

my supporters!! heather was supposed to be running with me...i was very sad she couldn't run. we've been training together up until 2 weeks ago when she got shin splints...i'm hoping her body will be better in time for the st. george marathon in october. running is always more fun when you can run with someone like your sister...so i can't wait for her to get better!

and melissa came along for the pure excitement of it all...and actually she's the one who made it exciting! without her, i don't think i would have ever even made it to moab...she's practically a moab native. it was a short, but fun weekend...so thanks again girls, you're the best! :)
