...race recap...

so i completed my first official 1/2 marathon in moab last weekend...and really loved it! i never thought in a million years that i would ever be someone who loved running, but it's quickly turning into a passion & i love the challenge. here i am before the race started...it was freezing outside by the way.

and here i am reenacting my finish...yes that's right...reenacting it. i was probably the only runner that heather & meliss missed, so i ran through twice to get some pictures...kindof embarrassing.

crossing the finish line!! woo hoo!! i finished in 2:01:59...which i was happy about. my knees have been giving me problems the last couple of weeks, and i think i hurt them even more after this race. i seriously thought my leg was just going to give out on me completely...but i finished & am hoping that i can still run the marathon next month. we'll see how these legs of mine hold up!

my supporters!! heather was supposed to be running with me...i was very sad she couldn't run. we've been training together up until 2 weeks ago when she got shin splints...i'm hoping her body will be better in time for the st. george marathon in october. running is always more fun when you can run with someone like your sister...so i can't wait for her to get better!

and melissa came along for the pure excitement of it all...and actually she's the one who made it exciting! without her, i don't think i would have ever even made it to moab...she's practically a moab native. it was a short, but fun weekend...so thanks again girls, you're the best! :)

You are awesome girl! I have always hated running myself, maybe I should give it another try. Maybe after kids you end up loving it because its the only peace and quiet you get! Haha. Great job! And I agree with Shelley- you look amazing!

I really think it's so awesome that you ran the race-especially after it was such a hassle to get down there and your sister couldn't run with you. I loved the re-enactment; it was perfect and you'd never know it wasn't real :)

Thanks for going to that photo seminar with me the other night-too bad it was over both our heads which is too funny considering that's what I have my degree in!

congratulations lyndsie! that is awesome & i hope those knees get better in time to do the full marathon. take lots of flax seed oil & buy some BIOFREEZE (it's cheaper off of amazon). that stuff works miracles on sore muscles & aches. i even use it on my neck & back for migraines sometimes! it saved ben's body after he ran the SL marathon.
