...twenty-six point two...

i've always wanted to run a marathon...and have been hoping to run the st. george this upcoming fall. even though the thought of it is overwhelming to me...i figured having 9 months to train and get ready for it would be nice. until yesterday when my sister heather called and told me she had signed up for the first annual utah valley marathon! "sounds great! sign me up!" i say, "when is it?" she then told me it's april 12...that means eleven weeks away! are we crazy? we may be...but we figure since we're training for the moab half marathon that's on march 8th, why not just keep on training while we're in running shape & just go for it!? it'll be a goal worth working towards! we're excited! and there's a great perk...we're guaranteed to get a medal as long as we finish within six hours!! i think we can do it! i think we can...i think we can...i think we can...

wish me luck...i'll need it!

You can do it! It's really not as hard as it appears. Just remember it is MIND over BODY. Keep thinkin' you can, and guess what......You WILL! Running a marathon is such an empowering experience, I'm so excited for you. The 1/2 in Moab is lots of fun too! Good Luck!

You go woman and I'll cheer you on virtually from my home! I get tired running a block, so I don't think I'll ever do this in my life time. But way to step it up woman. Make us proud.

The saying "If it doesn't kill ya, it will make you stronger" seriously applies to marathons. Just kidding. My advice (since you asked) is...Enjoy the process. It may turn you into a life-long runner.

As an almost PT, I think you can do it. Especially since you have already been training for the half marathon.

I've always wanted to run a marathon, but at the same time it kinda scares me. For some reason running outdoors by myself every day freaks me out because I think I might get kidnapped - lol. I love to run, but I always get nervous if there's a car parked on the side of the road where I'm about to run. So yes, that's my excuse for not training for a marathon. Kind of lame. I do love to run outdoors though when I have someone to run with and I LOVE going to the gym. I go everyday!!

oh wow, thanks for your sweet comments on my blog. first off good luck on the marathon! that's a great goal to have. i'm jealous that i'm soo much more lazy than you. second, yes the camera just takes practice and some figuring out, but its a great camera-you'll love it. i read through the manual b/4 i took pics so that i could get more used to the settings and controls, etc. there is so much it can do, its good to read up on it a little... you take good pictures already, what are you talking about? i'm learning too, so i'm not the best person to ask but i think i have some of your same lenses so if you have questions i might be able to help? hope that helps a little.

did i mention your blog and little family is TOO cute...

Lynds, that is so cool that you guys are going to do the 1/2 and then full marathon! Nice that you'll have a buddy to go with. Just be smarter than me and don't work your legs out two days before and don't let someone talk you into running faster than you trained for. Two counts against me... I'm surprised I finished! You'll do so great and I can't wait to hear how you and Heather like the race.
